I was in a bad motorcycle accident. Since that day I have ridden over 11,000 miles.

I had multiple strains throughout my body, contusions, lacerated liver, opened wounds, damaged kidney my left knee cap completely came off.

For the next 3 months I went to the hospital 3 times a week for wound repair, that’s 36 visits for body repair.

I am really blessed and lucky to be alive and still riding. I purchased another Goldwing 2 weeks later at a Sacramento motorcycle dealer. The genius in me decided to ride it home, that caused a month of additional infection repair. Not smart.

Goldwing Bagger Tires

This was one of the quickest deliveries from Wing stuff. I ordered like on Tuesday and it was delivered by Friday.

I decided to go with the original Bridgestone Excedra G852 rear and G853 front.

The original tires are still mounted on the bike and I’m thinking I’ll get at least 1000 more miles out of each

If I can hold off changing the tires I may hit 15,000 miles on the first set.

Already bug season

When the winter season rain and cold weather goes away, the bugs come out in full force. I don’t mind wiping the windshield down every time I pull inside the Manetarium.

That’s all part of being a daily rider. You get used to the different rituals you do before you take off and when you return.

I started using bottled water that I pour into a spray bottle. This seems to break down the bugs mess if done carefully. I do use towels that are not abrasive and soft on the windshield avoiding scratching the snot out of the outer surface.

Another step I take is spraying Honda Detailer cleaner onto the freshly wiped windshield and apply a layer of protection.

Back from Maui

The good thing, I was able to hop back on the sled and ride. The not so good thing, we lost that beautiful Maui weather and scenery. It doesn’t matter that it rains on my motorcycle rides, I’m completely used to that but jumping from paradise temperature down to the upper 30’s isn’t a happy vibe for sure.

On a side note, I really enjoy the have XM satellite radio. It makes the commute much nicer being able to listen a large variety of music and not have to flip around for radio stations that have a strong enough signal that is bearable for listening.

I still need to program a channel list. I’m still only using a small portion of channels that are in the R&B and Rap genre. There are many other stations that I have found but not programmed in yet.

Getting the winter miles in

I’ve been putting in a lot of miles since i got the Goldwing Bagger. The past few months have definitely been the coldest.

I have a good selection of gear to wear for most weather conditions here at NorCal so I’m set no matter what day brings.

Getting winter miles in

I bought the Goldwing Bagger November 9, 2024 with 4430 miles.

When I pulled into the Manetarium this evening I was at 10,067 miles. That’s 5,637 miles I rode in 107 days or you can say 3 1/2 months. The first couple months I was healing from my motorcycle accident.

At this pace I will have ridden over 20,000 by the end of the year.

Fooking cold

It’s getting pretty dang cold during the morning commute. At certain areas the temperature is dipping down to 24 degrees.

Even with upper body heated gear I can feel the cold bite in when my speeds are in the 60 mph range.

I’m having to wear my Tour Master over pants as jeans are not enough to keep my legs comfortable.

The morning I took this photo I was not wearing the over pants and by the time I arrived at work my legs were stinging and numb.

The temperature inside the Manetarium is even chilly. I don’t mess around too much in the shop because of the cold temperatures.

I’m digging the blue light theme that is really visible night riding. I may look into dimming it down just a tad so I don’t look like a giant Smurf at night.

Uber eats

Not really, I picked up some dinner grub on the way home. The Saddlemen luggage rack barrel bag is working out great.

I wasn’t too sure at first using the larger bag due to the aesthetics. After seeing how well it worked for a two meal order I’m sold on it. I think I’ll use the smaller T-Bag on occasions. I just haven’t figured out when that time will be.

Bagger +1

I’m using a removable barrel bags for different scenarios. The original bag I got was a T-Bag setup with the large pack and a barrel bag that can placed on top. The main bag is too big to be used daily. I don’t lug any large during my commute. The barrel bag that comes with the rig is just the right size for my daily commute gear but is not large enough for the instances I stop and grab a food to go on the way home from work.

I researched and found a couple of other bags. I’ll post the various manufacturers and models I ended up getting and in one case will not use.

One thing I have found to be limiting is the side hard bag’s capacity. I get they needed to down size the non-touring models bag capacity but it is really small compared to what I am used to.
